Hi there, I would like to welcome you to my site, I have written a few words to tell you a little about how it all began. As a child I had a special interest in dogs and kittens along with a overwhelming desire to care for them. Early on I knew that this is what I wanted to do. I would spend all my spare time reading and learning everything that I could take in. During my jr high and high school years I volunteered at our local veterinarian clinic. I also took Animal Care Specialist courses. What I learned and practiced along with my passionate drive to nurture has made me a better breeder and has given me the ability to provide our puppies with the best possible care. I started Amatskennel in 1990 I named it after myself Angelica and my son Matthew. I am a family person, I value my family and friends. I am a single mom of three wonderful boys Matthew, Zachary and Jeremy. I love my family, my animals and my buyers. You will find that dealing with me will be a much different experience from someone who wants to sell you a puppy in a parking lot next to an ATM machine. You will be welcomed into our home and we promise to make your adoption process as stress free as possible. Caring for puppies and adult dogs is not for everyone, it involves alote of hard work and emotional dedication. It can also become very costly when complications arise. We truly feel that all families regardless of their budget should be able to afford the puppy of their dreams, we try our best to keep our pricing as reasonable as possible without ever depriving our babies of a quality diet, dewormings and vaccinations.

A 2016 update:

In early 2016 due to some health issues, I decided to make a change in my breeding program from long coated breeds to something easier to maintain.  In Sept 2016 my friend Denise a Dachshund breeder of 25 years contacted me with news of her retirement. She asked if I was interested in some of her Dachshunds and I said YES YES. My dilemma had been answered.
In November she delivered a group of beautiful Dachshunds and so Dachshund Bliss was born. Denise is still very much a part of her dogs lives as she is still involved in placing the puppies into their forever homes. What a wealth of Dachshund knowledge she is, I constantly ask her for advice. She knows these dogs going back 25 years into her breeding program.
I am blessed to be able to work with her and carry on her dedication to the Dachshund breed.
